Coach began in 1941 as a small, family-run workshop, with just six artisans.
Today, the Coach family consists of over 19,000 employees in 22 countries
around the world. Our diverse team defines who we are. As Victor Luis, CEO
of Coach Inc. has said, “It’s my belief that the best way to truly understand what’s
at the heart of Coach is to know the people who make it run: Our employees.”
Needless to say, health, benefits, safety, equality and support for our growing
family is a high priority.
As a company that designs for women, we are also a company that values women. In fact, 69% of our overall organization is female. And 54% of our leadership roles are held by women (the average is 25% according to Catalyst, a nonprofit organization that provides extensive research on women and work, globally).
Coach was also recognized by The Women’s Forum of New York and 2020 Women on Boards for our strong female representation on our Board of Directors. Our board is 33% female (the average is about 19% per Catalyst).

We’re committed to equality for all of our employees, including their spouses or partners.
We were honored to be voted one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index in 2015, 2016 and 2017. We are committed to maintaining our 100% score on the Corporate Equality Index annual survey going forward.
“When I started at Coach, one of the values of it that I loved
is the idea that it’s inclusive—that it’s open. New York City
is a cultural melting pot, so it’s a celebration of that.”
— STUART VEVERS, COACH EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Let’s face it, health insurance and benefits are important. Our employees are our most valuable assets and we’re committed to providing them with progressive benefits that are relevant to today’s needs. Over 20 years ago, Coach instituted equivalent spouse and same-sex partner benefits for medical, dental, vision and dependent coverage. We also provide equal benefits for bereavement leave, employer-provided supplemental life insurance for a partner and adoption assistance.
In recent years, our health care coverage has expanded to include coverage for transgender individuals, without exclusion, for medically necessary care. We also extend benefits for services related to gender transition.
Coach was recently honored with two awards in China: Top 100 Employer of Excellence in China and Excellence in HR Management Team. Selected from over 380,000 companies, the awards recognize our efforts in talent acquisition, retention and development, as well as our commitment to drive innovative HR initiatives and provide our employees an engaging working environment.
