Lew Frankfort has been involved with the Coach business for almost 30 years. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Coach since November 1995. He has served as a member of Coach’s Board of Directors since June 1, 2000, the date of incorporation. Mr. Frankfort served as Senior Vice President of Sara Lee Corporation from January 1994 to October 2000. Mr. Frankfort was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Sara Lee Champion, Intimates & Accessories group in January 1994, and held this position through November 1995.
From September 1991 through January 1994, Mr. Frankfort held the positions of Executive Vice President, Sara Lee Personal Products and Chief Executive Officer of Sara Lee Accessories. Mr. Frankfort was appointed President of Coach in July 1985, after Sara Lee acquired Coach, and held this position through September 1991. Mr. Frankfort joined Coach in 1979 as Vice President of New Business Development. Prior to joining Coach, Mr. Frankfort held various New York City government management positions and served as Commissioner, New York City Agency for Child Development. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Teach for America, a public-private partnership aimed at eliminating educational inequity in America, and Advanced Assessment Systems LLC (LinkIt!), a provider of online testing, data management, and intervention solutions serving the K-12 educational market, and he is a member of the Board of Overseers at Columbia Business School. Mr. Frankfort holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College and an M.B.A. degree in Marketing from Columbia University.
